Ryan Eyestone

Howdy! I’m Ryan Eyestone, host of Rockcast Radio’s “The Midnight Hour” airing Monday-Friday, 12am-4am. I’ve been doing radio since my junior year of high school. My love for radio started when I was very little, listening to Bob and Tom or the Smiley Morning Show in the car or on the way to school. In 8th grade, I visited the WZPL offices and got to see a work day there. I was immediately enamored. Since then, it’s all I’ve really wanted to do.

Outside of radio, I make art and music in my spare time. I post my art on Instagram, and my music can be found under the name “Lullabies For Emmett.” I also post on YouTube and livestream on Twitch. I hope to make you entertained in some kind of way, usually comedy, intentionally or not.

Learn A Little More About Ryan

 1. Who is your hero?   My Mom! She’s been through hell and back, but still manages to be the kindest, funniest, and hardest working person I’ve ever met.

 2. If you could live anywhere, where would it be?   Despite my deep love for my home state, Indy, I often gravitate towards the Pacific Northwest. Especially Oregon and Washington. I blame Twin Peaks.

 3. What is your biggest fear?   Food without YouTube

 4. What really makes you angry?   Angry people who aren’t funny. At least get a good joke in when you're steaming.

 5. What motivates you to work hard?   Sisyphus and the hill.

 6. What is your favorite thing about being on the radio?   Listener interaction! I absolutely believe there is no reason to hear someone speak if you can’t talk too.

 7. What makes you laugh the most?   Norm Macdonald and finding embarrassing YouTube videos with less than 100 views.

 8. What are your favorite movies?   Lost Highway by David Lynch & Gremlins 2 by Joe Dante

 9. What did you want to be when you were a kid?   A Radio Host… Like that would happen!

10.If you could choose to do anything for a day, what would it be?   Start working on a new painting or a song, catch a good movie in a quiet theater, eat a warm meal in a rainy diner, and go to bed at 5am.

 11. What is your favorite game or sport to watch and play?   America’s favorite pastime, baseball! Terribly boring to watch, but fun to play.

12.Would you rather ride a bike, ride a horse, or drive a car?   Despite my fears, a horse would be fun. My car can’t eat apples or dream of running around freely in the untamed West.

13.What two radio stations do you listen to in the car the most?   99.5 WZPL, Howard 100

14.If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?   Sushi. There have been times in my life where I’ve survived off of gas station quality sushi for weeks, still not tired of it.

 21. What would you do if you won the lottery?   I have been asked by my lawyer to make no comments at this time.

 22. If you could eat a meal with any 4 people, living or dead, who would they be?   Norm Macdonald, David Lynch, Hunter S. Thompson, and Nancy Reagan

32. What’s a book you’d recommend to anyone?   Bill Fitzhugh’s “The Organ Grinders”

35.What are you tired of hearing about?   Artificial Intelligence.
